You can now talk your way through Gmail, Docs, and Keep
TL;DR Gmail, Docs, and Keep can now understand natural voice commands and turn them into useful actions. Docs Live can pull info from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web, while Keep Live organizes free-flowing thoughts into notes and lists. The new voice features are rolling out now to eligible Google AI subscribers, with Workspace support coming soon. Back at Google I/O, the company showed how Gemini could make Gmail, Docs, and Keep feel less like apps you operate and more like assistants you talk to. The company promised that these new voice-powered experiences would be available this summer, and after a few early glimpses, the wait is finally over. Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live are rolling out now, giving users new ways to get things done without reaching for the keyboard. Gmail Live is perhaps the most immediately useful of the three. Instead of digging through your inbox or remembering the right keywords, you can ask a question out loud. Gmail can connect information across emails to synthesize an answer. That could mean asking when your kid’s next school event is, checking an order update, or finding information buried across multiple messages.

Lenovo just showed off a laptop with new cooling tech that could replace fans
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLV4dFCEJ-E TL;DR Lenovo has showcased the Project AeroBlade concept laptop at IFA 2026. The company showcased a concept design for the future of work laptops that’s sleek and lightweight yet still capable of handling most tasks. Lenovo is calling it Project AeroBlade, and the concept showcased at IFA is a 14-inch laptop that’s less than 10mm thick and weighs less than 830g.

Puck or stand? Motorola’s answer to Apple’s MagSafe lets you do both
TL;DR Motorola’s new Snap Wireless Charger brings MagSafe-like magnetic charging to compatible Qi2 devices, with speeds of up to 25W. The slim aluminum charger works with magnetic cases and can slot into an optional stand for upright charging. Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but the charger will come in three Pantone color options. Motorola is steadily building out its accessory lineup, and its latest addition could be particularly interesting if you’ve been waiting for the company to properly embrace magnetic wireless charging. At IFA 2026, Motorola officially unveiled the Snap Wireless Charger, an accessory that recently leaked. The idea will be instantly familiar if you’ve used Apple’s MagSafe or seen Google’s PixelSnap charger. It magnetically snaps onto the back of your phone and delivers up to 25W of wireless charging with compatible Qi2 devices. The magnets keep the charger aligned, and it works through compatible magnetic cases, too.

Aurzen’s pocket-sized folding projector gets a Pro upgrade
TL;DR Aurzen’s new ZIP Pro builds on the original folding projector with native 1080p resolution, 200 ANSI lumens, and a larger 38Wh battery. The tri-fold projector packs a big-screen experience into a pocketable, 586g design roughly the size of a large power bank. New features include a built-in touchscreen display, dual Bluetooth headphone support, Nintendo Switch projection, and 2.5 hours of playback in ECO mode. We’ve learned to accept that in tech, anything portable will have compromises compared to its tethered counterpart — except phones, of course. Laptops are generally less powerful than desktops, wireless earbuds have the battery constraints that wired earbuds don’t, and projectors are no different. The smaller projectors get, the more features consumers tend to lose, such as brightness, resolution, battery life, and more. Aurzen knows that, and instead of trying to replace your living-room TV, the company’s new projector goes all in on making the big-screen experience as portable as possible.

At IFA 2026, Lenovo is revealing a whole ensemble of new all-in-one PCs, laptops, monitors, and tablets. The most vibrant, and quite unlike ThinkPad’s for-serious-business persona, is the new IdeaPad Vibe series, and it indeed is a vibe. This new range of laptops takes on the MacBook Neo with spirited colors, compelling specifications, and enough RAM to make AI buffs drool. The IdeaPad Vibe is Lenovo’s latest take on the Copilot Plus PC, with options between Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X platform and AMD’s Ryzen AI 400 processors. The various trims are adorned in different colors, including:

I tried Motorola’s first Wear OS watch since 2019, and I already have a big concern
https://youtube.com/shorts/HjoV-bQfhMc?feature=share A while back, we asked Motorola to bring Wear OS back. After years of watching the company drift further away from the operating system while Google, Samsung, and others pushed Wear OS forward, it seemed like the obvious thing to do. Well, Motorola finally listened. I got some hands-on time with the company’s new Moto Watch Ultra at IFA 2026, its first Wear OS smartwatch since the Moto 360 launched in 2019. And while Motorola hasn’t reinvented the wheel with its comeback, the Moto Watch Ultra feels like a convincing attempt to get back in the game, albeit with a few curious choices.

MAMMOTION brings its most capable robot mowers yet to IFA 2026
Credit: MAMMOTION Mowing large lawns takes a lot of time and effort, and the work only gets harder when you have slopes, uneven ground, or tricky edges. While many homeowners now use robotic mowers, spots near walls, fences, and garden beds often still need finishing by hand. If you want a commercial-quality result, regular mowers usually can’t deliver. At IFA 2026, MAMMOTION is showing two new products made to solve these challenges: the LUBA 4 AWD series for home lawns and Maston, the company’s first commercial mower. Here’s what you need to know.

Watch out, DJI: This pocket gimbal camera can turn into an action camera
TL;DR The Hohem Eyepic is a 2-in-1 pocket gimbal camera. It can be detached from its gimbal and used as an action camera. It can also record vertical videos at 4K 60fps without any cropping. IFA 2026 is underway, and several brands have already announced new devices. There’s an Anker power bank with a built-in fan, a new Motorola smartwatch, and more. Joining these announcements is a unique take on portable gimbal cameras from Hohem. The company is showing off the Hohem Eyepic — the world’s first 2-in-1 pocket gimbal camera. It looks a bit like a DJI Osmo Pocket 4, but instead of a tiny camera fixed to a gimbal, the Eyepic has a detachable camera unit.

The weather app on your Pixel Watch is adding new watch face modules
TL;DR A new Pixel Weather update for Wear OS introduces three new complications. Pixel Watch owners can now add Air quality index, Pollen, and Precipitation complications to their watch face. Some third-party Wear OS weather apps already offer some of these complications for Pixel Watch owners. Google retired the existing Weather app for Pixel Watch models last year in favor of the Pixel Weather app. Since then, the app has allowed Pixel Watch owners to choose from up to three watch face complications: Sunrise and sunset, UV Index, and Weather. Now, a new Pixel Weather update for Wear OS is adding three more complications to the list. Google is rolling out dedicated complications for Air quality index, Pollen, and Precipitation as part of the version 1.0.0.94 update of the Pixel Weather app. For the uninitiated, complications on smartwatches are like widgets that offer information in real time on the watch face. Common complications on the Pixel Watch include battery level, a step counter, and upcoming calendar appointments.

Galaxy Watch 9 owners just got a much less disruptive way to update
TL;DR The Galaxy Watch 9 appears to be Samsung’s first smartwatch with seamless updates. The feature lets new firmware download and install in the background while you keep using the watch. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 may also support seamless updates. Seamless updates arrived with Android Nougat, but Samsung took years to adopt the technology. The Galaxy A55 was the first Samsung phone to support it, before the Galaxy S25 extended it to the flagship lineup. Now, the company appears to be expanding the same convenience to its wearables, with the Galaxy Watch 9 becoming the first Galaxy smartwatch to support seamless updates. Several X users (h/t: SammyGuru) spotted the feature with the Watch 9’s first software update since its launch. The roughly 193MB update carries the August 5, 2026 security patch, and users installing it have seen the seamless update process in action. Rather than taking the watch completely offline, the new firmware can be downloaded and installed in the background while the watch is in use.

This upcoming dual-screen handheld could be the perfect DS replacement
TL;DR ANBERNIC has shown off the RG DS Plus handheld in a YouTube video. This stands out from rival dual-screen handhelds thanks to the integrated stylus slot and a mic integrated into the hinge. The upcoming handheld also apparently has a new Nintendo DS emulator, called NNDDSS. There are quite a few options on the market if you want a dual-screen handheld, with devices from ANBERNIC, AYANEO, and AYN. Now, ANBERNIC has shown off its latest dual-screen device, and it stands out for one reason. ANBERNIC unveiled the RG DS Plus via a YouTube video, and it turns out that this new handheld comes with a capacitive stylus. Furthermore, the RG DS Plus stands out from other dual-screen rivals thanks to an integrated stylus slot. This is in line with the original Nintendo DS and means you can quickly and easily store the stylus when it’s not in use. The new handheld even has a microphone in the hinge, mimicking the Nintendo DS microphone location.

HTC challenges Meta for the US smart glasses market with Vive Eagle
TL;DR After first introducing its Vive Eagle smart glasses last year, HTC is bringing the wearable to the US. The smart glasses offer a 12MP camera, your choice of OpenAI or Gemini AI assistance, and can easily charge on the go. Pricing starts at $499 for standard or sun lenses, or $599 for photochromic. HTC may not be in the phone business any longer, but the company has discovered new niches to fill, as we’ve seen with the HTC Vive VR platform. This time last year, we heard about plans to expand Vive into smart glasses with the launch of the Vive Eagle smart glasses. Earlier this summer, we learned that the Vive Eagle was finally coming to the US in September, and today we’ve got the full details on that debut, ready to share. The Vive Eagle take a glasses-first approach to smart eyewear, and that means a priority on a sleek, comfortable fit — and that also means one not encumbered by screens. That makes these feel like a direct competition to the likes of Meta’s smart glasses.

XGIMI’s Aura 3 ultra-short-throw projectors push brightness and contrast to new extremes
TL;DR XGIMI is upgrading its Aura ultra-short-throw projector series with two new models, the Aura 3 Pro and Aura 3 Max. Both projectors offer 8000:1 contrast ratios and a new triple-laser RGB light source. Support for low-lag 120Hz 4K output sounds perfect for gamers. If you’re looking to seriously upgrade how you consume media at home, there is no single more impressive change you can make than picking up a projector. A great Google TV projector not only taps into all your favorite services, but blows them up to cinema size. While there are options running the gamut of affordability and features, when you’ve got the cash to drop on one, ultra-short-throw (UST) projectors are arguably your best option — huge picture, minimal space requirements. We’ve already been impressed with the UST options from XGIMI’s Aura series, and right now we’re learning about its very latest, the Aura 3. The Aura series has been a great UST solution for projector fans with a couple thousand bucks to spare and a big, blank wall they’re looking to fill with crisp 4K content. And with the Aura 3, XGIMI is pushing the limits of this already impressive tech even further.

Why modular design could be the next big shift for consumer exoskeletons
Credit: Ascentiz In a young hardware category, progress is easy to measure by what can be seen: more torque, longer range, another powered joint. Consumer exoskeletons are now reaching a stage where the architecture behind those specifications may matter just as much. The question is no longer only how much assistance a device can deliver, but how many different needs the system can grow to support. That is the larger idea Ascentiz is bringing to IFA 2026. Its H hip module and K knee module address different movement demands and can be used independently. A new H+K configuration connects both through a hub, with BodyOS coordinating their work at the system level. Together, the three configurations make Ascentiz’s platform strategy tangible: specialized hardware on top of a shared Exo-Belt, communication architecture, and software foundation.

Pro cameras could finally become standard on regular flagships, and that’s good news for your wallet
TL;DR vivo is giving the standard X500 a major camera upgrade, including the X300 Pro’s 50MP LYTIA-828 main sensor. The X500 also gets a Pro-level 64MP periscope camera, with CIPA 5.5 stabilization and 4K/120fps slow-mo video. This could signal a shift in vivo’s flagship strategy, with top-tier camera hardware moving down from Pro and Ultra models. The vivo X300 Pro has earned a reputation as one of the best camera phones you can buy today, and for good reason. Its combination of a large main sensor, a capable telephoto camera, and excellent stabilization made it a serious photography tool rather than just another flagship with a long spec sheet. Now, vivo is doing something far more interesting with that camera hardware: putting much of it in this year’s regular X500. Ahead of the X500 series launch this month, vivo’s product manager, Han Boxiao, confirmed on Weibo that the standard X500 will use the 50MP Sony LYT-828 main sensor, a 1/1.28-inch sensor found in the X300 Pro. It also gets CIPA 5.5 stabilization, giving the base model the same main-camera hardware that helped make its Pro predecessor such a formidable camera phone.

Eye-friendly NXTPAPER or an OLED screen? TCL’s new US-bound phones don’t force you to choose
Credit: TCL TL;DR TCL has announced the P80 series of smartphones. The TCL 80 Pro and Ultra both have NXTPAPER OLED screens, while the Ultra also has a 50MP 3x camera. The phones start at ~$404, but you’ll need to spend at least ~$496 if you want a model with NXTPAPER. TCL has been producing NXTPAPER phones for a while now, offering a glare-free display compared to typical Android smartphones. Now, the company has announced the TCL P80 series at IFA 2026. The P80 Ultra and P80 Pro have plenty of features in common. For one, there’s the 6.83-inch OLED NXTPAPER display (1.5K, 120Hz, 3,200 nits peak brightness). TCL says these are the first phones to feature NXTPAPER paired with an OLED screen instead of an LCD panel. The NXTPAPER tech reduces glare and reflections for a more pleasant viewing experience. There’s also a NXTPAPER button that activates a Max Ink Mode. This mode turns your screen into a monochrome display, akin to an E-Ink panel. In fact, TCL claims up to seven days of reading in this mode.
