For years, the best Android launcher wasn’t much of a debate — Nova Launcher had it locked down. But ever since its acquisition, that’s changed, and a lot of us have been left launcher-hopping. I’d been in that same boat, and while Niagara and Lawnchair both came close, neither one made me want to stop looking.

And the reason it took me this long to find the perfect launcher is that I kept looking in the one place the answer wasn’t — the Play Store. Kvaesitso is a free, open-source launcher that skips Google’s app store entirely, and it’s unlike anything you’ve probably tried before.
