The Extreme chipset also brings a more impressive GPU with Adreno Neural Fusion, as well as more powerful AI hardware. Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 roughly a year ago, and it was arguably the most powerful smartphone processor for most of 2026. The company has recently been teasing not one but two Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips, and it’s now made them official. Say hello to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Yes, we’ve got another confusing name. I’m looking forward to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 for Galaxy next year.
