In June, Google finally threw the Google TV Streamer a bone and gave the device its first major OTA update of 2026. In addition to applying bug fixes and improvements, the update also brought support for Thread 1.4. Now that same support is starting to extend to the company’s smart displays and mesh system. It appears Google is rolling out Thread 1.4 to more devices. Users are reporting on Reddit that their Nest Hub devices have been upgraded to the latest version of the standard. The devices that have received the update, according to the post, include the Nest Hub, Nest Hub Gen 2, Nest Hub Max, and Nest WiFi Pro.
