While that’s great and all, it appears that the assistant also lost a crucial ability for some users around the same time. According to dozens of Wear OS users on Reddit (1, 2), Gemini has lost the ability to control smart home devices. When using their smartwatch to ask Gemini to perform a task, nothing happens, but the assistant will still say it carried out the action. According to the original poster, this error occurred across all of their smart devices, including their lights, AC, vacuum, and more.
