Two Ukrainian tennis players—Polina Sklyar (WTA No. 1041) and Sofia Belinska—played their opening matches at the 2026 US Open Junior Championships.
The 15-year-old Sklyar, seeded ninth, defeated Great Britain’s Holly Smart in two sets in the first round. Next, Polina will face wild-card entrant Isha Manchala.
