HEARTSTEEL's Return Confirmed: Everything We Know, Leaked Skins

Your favorite virtual boy band is back: Riot Games has confirmed the return of HEARTSTEEL. Let’s recap the full timeline of events, including the leak of skins and concept art.
HEARTSTEEL’s return is here
The story of HEARTSTEEL’s return actually begins with another Riot Games group. The League of Legends community first began seeing leaks about K/DA’s return in early July 2026, coming from reputable sources such as @LeagueOfLeaks. Before long, this went from pure speculation to a likely possibility. Fans discovered a legal filing for a new K/DA song titled “Watch Me,” and leaked images began to surface, showing potential designs for light sticks and skins.
Since K/DA and Heartsteel are so closely intertwined, K/DA’s sudden reappearance raised questions about whether HEARTSTEEL would follow suit. Additional leaks claim that True Damage is also making a comeback… but there’s no news on Pentakill just yet (sorry, metalheads!).
HEARTSTEEL’s first release, “Paranoia” (featuring Baekhyun, Toby Lu, Ozzy, and Kel Scraby), went viral. The video racked up over 73 million views, instantly securing a large fan base for the group.
New HEARTSTEEL Skin Leaks
On September 7, images appeared that are allegedly new leaked HEARTSTEEL skins. It’s also possible that these are just models for an upcoming music video, but judging by past trends, the new HEARTSTEEL skins will likely still be inspired by their costumes from music videos.
The images quickly spread across Reddit, Discord, X.com, and other platforms. We see the six main members of HEARTSTEEL: Ezreal, Kayn, Sett, K’Sante, Ione, and Afelio.

Will HEARTSTEEL release new music in 2026?
The creator of the HEARTSTEEL concept art claimed that HEARTSTEEL will release a new music video in 2026. Allegedly, they had access to the full audio recordings of HEARTSTEEL’s upcoming songs and the music video. However, these have not yet been made public.
The musical theme for Act 2 of Season 3
On September 8, 2026, Riot Games confirmed that Act 2 of Season 3 of League of Legends in 2026 would have a musical theme. This small but significant piece of information added fuel to the fire, as it supported the narrative of the studio’s virtual bands making a comeback. It was part of a developer update that also revealed the upcoming “League Voice” feature and some major updates to League Classic.
Riot Confirms the Return of HEARTSTEEL
Just a day later, the official League of Legends account on X.com all but confirmed HEARTSTEEL’s return with a teaser video. In the post, which went viral, HEARTSTEEL communicates via voicemail. It seems the team members are preparing for something big: they’re hurriedly dyeing their hair and packing their bags. They tell Cain, “You’d better go,” and the group’s manager replies, “You should have woken up and been ready an hour ago!”
When will HEARTSTEEL make their comeback? Release date
Riot Games hasn’t officially confirmed a release date for HEARTSTEEL’s comeback, but leaks point to Act 2 of Season 3 in 2026 as a likely window. The update is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026. It will be released alongside Patch 26.20.
Recent reports suggest that the group’s return may coincide with K/DA’s comeback. Since the 2026 World Championship begins on October 15 and Act 2 concludes on October 7, many fans expect the announcement to take place around that time. Riot Games always likes to release a theme song for each Worlds tournament. Could HEARTSTEEL or K/DA be this year’s headliners?
@LeagueOfLeaks backed the theory of an October 7 return, also stating that “it looks like HEARTSTEEL will be the first band to return, with True Damage and K/DA coming later!”
