Thunderpick 2026 World Championship Finals: Schedule, Prize Pool, Guide

This fall, the Thunderpick World Championship finals will shake up the Counter-Strike competitive calendar. Let’s briefly summarize everything you need to know about this event, including its schedule, prize pool, and key details.
The 2026 Thunderpick World Championship Finals are almost here
Thunderpick’s World Championship tournaments pit Counter-Strike teams against each other in a high-stakes single-elimination bracket. Last year, FURIA claimed the trophy, cementing its status as Brazil’s top Counter-Strike team. The team received $500,000, while the Ukrainian team Natus Vincere (NaVi) took second place with $150,000.
This marks the fourth year of the TWC. The tournament is held in partnership with Thunderpick, a gaming-focused betting site. Notably, it is one of the largest independent events outside of Valve’s publisher-sponsored channels.
In 2026, the Thunderpick World Championship will once again take place at BLAST Studios Malta. Its eight teams are among the strongest currently competing, seven of which received invitations based on their current VRS (Valve Regional Rankings) points. The tournament will announce these main contenders later in September. One wild card will also enter the fray from the global qualifiers for the TWC 2026 Finals, which will take place in late August.

Head of Strategy Kelly Sanders stated: “The Thunderpick World Championship has always strived to create the kind of tournament we ourselves would want to see […] we’re excited to see what story unfolds in Malta this October.”
Thunderpick World Championship 2026 Finals: Schedule and Format
With fall approaching, the TWC is just around the corner. The tournament will begin on Wednesday, October 14, and run through Sunday, October 18. The Grand Final will take place over the weekend, making it easier for fans to follow the action.
The tournament typically begins with a group stage, where teams compete against each other in two smaller clusters. This will determine the seeding for the playoffs, which is a single-elimination bracket where the third-place match is decisive.
In previous years, all matches were best-of-three series, except for the Grand Final, which usually lasts longer, up to a best-of-five series.
