Promising Ukrainian Lomakin claimed victory in the opening event of the European Championship

From September 17 to 25, Sofia, Bulgaria, is hosting the European Amateur Boxing Championships under the auspices of World Boxing, where medals will be awarded over nine days in 20 weight classes for men and women.
Promising Ukrainian boxer Mark Lomakin, an international-class Master of Sports of Ukraine competing in the 70-kg division, began his run in the tournament in the round of 32.
He secured a convincing victory over Austria’s Arsen Chabian, despite one of the five judges scoring the bout 30–27 in favor of Mark’s opponent.
Lomakin earned a spot in the round of 16, where he will face Serbian boxer Filip Dzida. The Ukrainian is the 2024 European Youth Champion.
