The WTA Finals will change its format starting in 2027: the tournament will be shortened to five days

The WTA Finals, following its move to Charlotte, North Carolina, U.S., will be shortened to five days of competition.
According to The Athletic, the changes will take effect in 2027. The reason is the tournament’s venue. Matches will be held at the Spectrum Center—home of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets during the NBA regular season.
Organizers will have to shorten the tournament to five days of play instead of the current eight and adjust to the basketball game schedule.
In 2026, the WTA Finals will be held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on hard courts in Indian Wells, California, from November 8 to 15.
Among Ukrainian players, Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk continue to compete for a spot in the 2026 Finals.
