Oliynikova Will Donate Over 2 Million Hryvnias in Prize Money Earned at the U.S. Open to the Ukrainian Armed Forces

Ukraine’s third-ranked tennis player, Oleksandra Oliynikova (WTA No. 41), will donate 2.4 million hryvnias in prize money earned at the 2026 U.S. Open to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The funds will go to the “Spalah” Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the “Knights of the Winter Campaign”: 2,000,000 UAH to purchase necessary equipment and components, and 400,000 UAH to buy and transfer a Mercedes cargo van to the unit.
“This year marks my first full season on the WTA Tour, where there are substantial prize money and international attention, which allows me not only to contribute my own funds but also to attract donations from abroad. In addition to what we’re donating now, in 2026 we provided approximately 150,000 euros in support to the units we sponsor. And the year isn’t over yet. I hope that next year we’ll be able to increase that figure several times over. For me, that’s the whole point of competing on the Tour,” said Oliinikova.
Oleksandra also noted that as part of the Drones4UA.org project, they are currently raising 189,000 UAH to purchase 10 Starlink Mini terminals for the “Apache” Unmanned Systems Battalion “Apache” of the 81st Separate Airborne Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
