For the first time since 1975, the top four seeds will face off in the US Open semifinals

The top four seeds will face off in the semifinals of the women's singles competition at the 2026 U.S. Open: Aryna Sabalenka [1] vs. Jessica Pegula [3], Coco Gauff [4] vs. Elena Rybakina [2].

For the first time since Wimbledon 2009, the top four seeded women have advanced to the semifinals of a Grand Slam women’s singles tournament. This is only the second time this has happened at the US Open in the Open Era—the first time was in 1975.

The 2026 US Open semifinals will take place on the night of September 11.
