Records and achievements set by Rybakina at the 2026 U.S. Open

On the night of September 13, Elena Rybakina became the 2026 U.S. Open champion after defeating Arina Sobolenko in the final.
For Rybakina, this trophy marked her third Grand Slam title, following her victories at Wimbledon 2022 and the 2026 Australian Open.
In total, Rybakina now has 14 Tour-level titles and three in the 2026 season.
Rybakina has a perfect 12–0 record at the US Open in matches where she won the first set, with all 12 victories ultimately coming in straight sets.
Elena has won her third career Grand Slam title. She became one of three female tennis players to have won at least three majors since the start of the decade, following Iga Swiatek (6) and Aryna Sabalenka (4).
Rybakina became the first player since Victoria Azarenka at the 2012 Australian Open to defeat former Grand Slam champions in both the semifinals and the final of a single Grand Slam tournament.
Since the WTA rankings were first published in 1975, Rybakina has become only the second player to defeat the world No. 1 twice in Grand Slam finals in a single season. Previously, only Steffi Graf had achieved this feat—at Roland Garros and the U.S. Open in 1995.
Rybakina also secured the No. 1 ranking by reaching the US Open semifinals. She became the first woman from Kazakhstan to reach the No. 1 ranking. Elena ended Sobolenko’s 99-week run at No. 1.
Prior to 2026, Rybakina had never advanced past the fourth round in New York.
