A top club in the Ukrainian Premier League is facing serious financial problems

One of the top clubs in the Ukrainian Premier League—“Kharkiv”—is facing serious financial problems. This was reported by Oleg Salenko, a former forward for Kyiv’s “Dynamo”:

“In my opinion, the start of the Ukrainian Premier League went off without any major surprises. And for some reason, certain teams clearly weren’t ready for the championship—they’re currently at the bottom of the standings.

Also, as far as I know, one of the clubs is currently facing very serious financial problems. That’s Kharkiv. They could fall apart...

As for the upcoming match against Kryvbas… It’s hard to pick a favorite or make any predictions for this match because, according to my information—and I’ll say it again—the club is facing financial problems and delayed salary payments. Everything there could change drastically.

I’m confident that we’ll see open, attacking soccer in Kryvyi Rih, both teams will score at least one goal each, and it will all end in a hard-fought 2-2 draw,” Salenko concluded.

Mladen Bartulović’s team has earned nine points in the first five rounds and is currently in fourth place in the standings. They trail the leader by three points.
