Ronaldo reacted sharply to the scandal involving the desecration of Jota's memory

Cristiano Ronaldo, a forward for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr and the Portuguese national team, commented on the scandal that occurred during the Saudi Arabian league match between Al-Taawoun vs. Al-Hilal.

Fans of the home team tried to provoke the opposing team’s Portuguese midfielder, Ruben Neves, by chanting from the stands the name of his close friend Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident a year ago.

“The league must take action and punish such behavior by fans. This is no longer soccer, and there must be restrictions. People who behave this way should never be allowed into the stadium again,” Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram.

Cristiano played alongside Neves and Jota on the Portuguese national team.
