A four-set rout. Belgium and the Netherlands determined the winner at the European Championship

The Belgian men’s national volleyball team scored a convincing victory over the Netherlands in the group stage of the 2026 European Championship.
The Belgian team got off to a strong start and completely dominated their opponent in the first set, allowing the Dutch to score only 14 points—25–14. In the second set, Joel Banks’s team managed to seize the initiative and won convincingly, 25–18. However, that was the end of the Dutch team’s success: Emanuele Zanini’s squad regained control of the match, confidently taking the third set (25–17), and in the fourth set, they repeated the result of the opening set—25–14.
The top scorers for the winners were Ferre Reggers (18 points) and Sam Deru (19). For the Dutch national team, Tom Koops scored 8 points, and Zibe Korenblek finished the match with 7 points.
