A photo finish determined the undisputed world champion in the 110-meter hurdles

On Friday, September 11, the men’s 110-meter hurdles event took place as part of the 2026 World Championships.

The race was won by Jacob Tarp of the United States, who finished in 12.94 seconds.

Tarp edged out his compatriot Cordell Tinch by 0.01 seconds, forcing a photo finish to determine the winner.

Jacob thus capped off a breakthrough season—one he began at the collegiate level in the U.S., where he set a world record—with a victory at the first-ever Ultimate Championships.

For this victory, Tarp received a trophy and $150,000 in prize money, while the other participants in the race received commemorative bracelets and prize money based on their finishing positions.
