Len signed a contract with a EuroLeague club
Український центровий продовжить кар'єру в «Басконії»

Baskonia announced on the club’s official social media pages that it has signed a contract with Ukrainian center Oleksiy Len.

The contract between the 33-year-old basketball player and the Basque club is for two years.

Len was born in Antratsyt and began his career in Ukraine; in 2011, he transferred to the University of Maryland Terrapins in the NCAA, where he spent two seasons.

Selected fifth overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, he spent 12 seasons and played 708 games in the NBA, averaging 6.7 points and 3.1 rebounds. In the NBA, he played for the Suns, the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Kings, the Toronto Raptors, the Washington Wizards, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Len spent last season with Real Madrid. In the Spanish league, he played 21 games, averaging 7.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks. In the EuroLeague, his numbers were significantly more modest: 23 games, averaging 3 points and 2 rebounds. Sergio Scariolo didn’t give him much playing time until Edi Tavares’ injury in April, and just as he was about to get his chance, Len himself suffered an injury to his left foot and missed the rest of the season, including the Final Four in Athens.
